I would choose the Half Tester, and the Turner Suite would be the room I would want to stay in if I visited :-).

  2. belocchiob says:

Like the princess who could feel a pea under 200 mattresses and 200 feather toppers I take this selection of the bed I am going to sleep in very seriously. I am absolutely sure The Madison suite would suit both the princess and me! Virginia

I’ve slept in a half tester — so the French Canopy!! πŸ™‚
    Both are beautiful!!

  4. I would choose the French Canopy because it’s just so difference. Well, plus I ‘m French!

  5. To feel like Maria Antoinette the French Canopy would be the one

  6. I would like the second one – it appears to be bigger although they are probably both the same size!

  7. terry1954 says:

the top one definitely for me, as the bottom looks more masculine

  8. shofar says:

I’ve never slept in a canopy bed. Just give me a firm mattress!

  9. billduff says:

Fantastic – both! The only problem would be that I would not sleep – too much to appreciate!

  10. The French canopy calls out the loudest to me. Maybe because I love French history so much? Who knows. I’d just love to be able to draw the curtains around

  11. I would just have to go twice so I could sleep in both!

  12. I think I like French Canopy Possible Bed Style for The Madison Suite the best. I would feel like royalty in that bedroom πŸ™‚

  13. First one, definitely. It’s so pretty.

  14. I will choose “Half Tester possible Bed Style for The Turner Suite”, since it seems much spacious as well as comfortable for a single one! πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€

  15. The Half Tester is more my style. Very cool. I’d love to know the age of the trunk at beds’ footing. Looks like something I own…

  16. I would definitely choose the first one, but the second one looks great too (and maybe a little better for people with allergies).. now, I’m off to find the free weekend drawing πŸ˜‰

  17. I like the half tester bed, both are beautiful but my personal preference is the Tester.

  18. squirrel circus says:

Hmmm…. I think I’d go for the half tester…I love its stately lines. Will definitely be checking out the drawing!

  19. I think the half-tester might be a less…intimidating choice. But more adventurous sleepers might get a kick out of the french canopy. I would love either one!

Adventurous sleepers? That was the weirdest thing I’ve said in a while…

  20. John says:

Neither actually but if I was really wiped out….I wouldn’t argue with either….probably the second one. Nice shots by the way.

  21. riverpearl says:

The half tester. They’re both beautiful.

  22. Luddy's Lens says:

Well, the Half Tester is more my style, but the French Canopy would be too much of a hoot to pass up!

  23. I would be honored to sleep in either of them! They are both stunning!

  24. talkavino says:

    Half Tester, please!

  25. I’m more of a half tester girl – but both are awesome!

  26. The French Canopy has my vote! πŸ˜€

  27. afewdaysoff says:

Our vote is for the Half Tester.

  28. R B Clark says:

I vote for the Half Tester.

Thanks for visiting my blog. It’s quite a story you have about the kids and the bed and breakfast. Having stayed in a number of B&B’s in New England’s Berkshires, the owners have told me how much work it is to run a place. All the best to you folks.

    • You are so welcome! We look forward to seeing more of your blog! We are excited about opening and being able to meet wonderful people. We know its going to be hard work, but it will be a love that we will enjoy.

  30. mlspell says:

Half tester for sure. Both are beautiful.

  31. Both are too small for me. Beds from years ago were built for short people since the average height years ago was much less than it is now.

  32. jackcurtis says:

Russell Ray is Right! Original canopy beds are best fitted by museums; I suppose your beds are gussied-up ‘old’ style but modern mattresses. That’s what I’d do in your situation, anyway. Give me a nice, simple pillow-top California King (that poor state only does one thing right, these days…).

    • I don’t think we want a bed that looks like it belongs in a museum or feels like it. The beds we are going to pick will remind you that you are in the time period of the families that once lived here, but also remind you of the comfort of the modern day… promise!

  33. half tester for me too!

  34. abradbury413 says:

I would choose the French canopy bed. Only because the second one reminds me of a bed I saw in a scary movie. Is that a silly reason or what?!

    • No its not silly! But the French canopy will make you feel like royalty!

      • abradbury413 says:

It also could be really fitting and fun to offer a “Royal Treatment” package as an inspiration of these beds/the suite. You could include breakfast in bed, a massage, facial, etc in the package to make visitors really feel like royalty!

  35. Nativegrl77 says:

Thank you for all your visits …support! either because they are vintage tho anything French is fitting for the time

  36. Thanks for visiting and liking my post. These beds are very beautiful!

  37. The top (bottom looks too dark and claustrophobic). Then again, it may be too small for my spouse. Hope to get there someday.
Thanks once again for liking some of my recent posts “A Little Teamwork”, “Happy Accident w/ HDR” and “Object Lighting-macro cicada”. Always greatly appreciated.

    • You are so welcome! You know the French canopy looks small but it really isn’t. That one is just over dressed which makes it look smaller. We hope that you will make it to the plantation some day!

  38. Madeleine says:

I would choose the half tester just because it looks less confined. I read the comment that the French one isn’t small, just looks small, but it also looks a little claustrophobic. However, if i was visiting your gorgeous place and that was the only bed available, I would have no complaints!

  39. Congratulations! Seems your hard work, perseverance, and tenacity has paid off. Good luck and fortunes follow in you B&B endeavor.

  40. jmount43 says:

The second one. Is Don Knotts going to be haunting the plantation? That would be awesome!

    • The Half Tester is beautiful! That one is for sure going to be there. But I am not sure about the French Canopy. I think it might be a bit too over the top for our Southern Plantation. Don Knotts? I don’t think he will be there. But if you like ghost and ghost hunting, wait until you hear what we have going on this weekend!

  41. janjoy52 says:

I’m definitely more simple in my taste. Half tester.:-D
